One of the local charities that benefits from the funds collected by Council #8500 during the 2012 MI Drive is Pretty Pony Pastures in Davisburg, MI. Grand Knight Jerry Burke and Council MI Drive Chairman Tom O'Dea presented owner Linda Watson with a check for $650.00. Pretty Pony Pastures offers theraputic horseback riding for mentally impaired as well as those with physical disabilities. The horses they use are Haflinger horses, which were originally bred in Austria and Italy in mountainous regions. The breed only grows from 13 - 15 hands (54 - 60 inches tall), and is many times mistaken for a pony.
